Water Shutoff Access

BECKLEY, W.Va. – West Virginia American Water has announced they will improving the water infrastructure in Oak Hill, which could lead to service disruptions and other problems for customers.

American Water said they will be replacing about 1,800 feet of water main on Kelly Avenue, and investing $450,000 in system improvements in the area. The project is underway, and crews are working to replace aging 6-inch and 2-inch water main. Construction is taking place from School Street to Bibb Street and Taylor Street.

American Water says the upgrades will make the service more reliable, and will help reduce service disruptions.

Traffic restrictions will be in place while crews work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a projected end date by the end of December.

American Water said that while construction is going on, customers could experience temporary service disruption, discolored water, and/or lower than normal water pressure. To report water related emergencies such as leaks, main breaks or other service disruptions, customers can submit a service request on the company’s website.
