The Big Brother housemates were evacuated after a fire alarm went off at the iconic house.

The warning system was activated last night Monday (14 October) and saw ITV’s live stream of the house cut to bird song while the incident was resolved.

An ITV spokesperson said: “The housemates were evacuated from the Big Brother house for a brief period yesterday after a fire alarm was activated. The safety and security of our cast and crew is always of the utmost importance.”

According to the PA news agency, “There was no fire and there was no cause for concern during the incident”.

The incident comes after Monday night’s episode, where contestant Khaled, 23, a sales manager from Manchester, accused Ali, 38, a forensic psychologist from London, of vilifying him.

Meanwhile, Daze, 24, a Climate Activist from London, got emotional after Khaled was forced to make a decision over the eviction nominations.

The episode was extended by 15 minutes, and the housemates nominated their fellow contestants for the first time. Those who received the most nominations face this week’s live eviction.

Khaled, who has been granted power as the head of house, was given the opportunity to secretly opt for a killer nomination, adding Martha, 26, a NHS Administrator from Scarborough, to the list of contestants already up for eviction.

It comes as Ryan, 28, who works in marketing and events from Stockport, was the first contestant to be booted off the show last week.

Meanwhile, a first look at tonight’s episode shows Ali and Khaled, who were still unable to resolve the situation, catching up the following day in an attempt to clear the air.

Elsewhere, for tonight’s (Tuesday 15 October) task the housemates’ opinions of each other will be put to the test. Housemates will be given a statement and must decide out of two names who the statement relates to the most by choosing either side A or B side.

Meanwhile, in the Diary Room, the Head of House, Khaled, and Shegun must predict their fellow housemates’ choices by guessing if the majority will go to side A or side B.

Questions include: most likely to play dirty to win, biggest attention seeker and most boring. How will the questions go down and will there be more drama?

And finally, in tonight’s teaser, Big Brother informs the house of another rule break that will have dramatic consequences for the housemates.

The next episode of Big Brother will air at 9pm on ITV2 tonight, followed by sister show Big Brother Late And Live at 10pm.
