Married at First Sight UK fans are pleading with the showrunners to alter the rules, as newlyweds are compelled to remain in the experiment despite their desire to exit.

The popular E4 programme returned for another episode on Monday night (October 14), featuring the remaining couples participating in the series’ third commitment ceremony. While some couples seemed to be flourishing since their wedding, it was evident that others were nearing the end of their journey.

Confronting experts Paul C. Brunson, Mel Schilling, and Charlene Douglas, the couples discussed their progress and received guidance.

Following their frank conversation with the experts, the married pairs decided whether to continue or depart. However, if one partner chose to stay and the other opted to leave, they were both required to remain.

In the latest episode, Casper Todd expressed his wish to exit the experiment. Yet, his wife, Emma Barnes, wanted to continue, reports the Daily Mirror.

A similar situation arose for Hannah Norburn and Stephen Nolson, with Stephen eager to leave his wife.

Nonetheless, due to the rigid rules, both grooms were obliged to try their marriages for another week. Witnessing these awkward scenes, viewers at home called for a change in the rules.

One fan headed to X and complained: “So cruel making them stay when they want to leave.”

Another viewer was less than pleased, exclaiming: “I’m getting p****d off at the experts making the person who has wrote leave to stay if the other person wants to stay. LET THEM LEAVE.” (sic)

A third chimed in with frustration: “Why do these people write stay when you can obviously see they don’t work! ” A fourth suggested a change in regulations: “#MAFSUK should change the rules. If one person writes LEAVE then it’s LEAVE, no one should be FORCED to stay where they don’t want to be.” (sic)

And yet another spectator voiced their discontent, saying: “This show is so predictable, man says I can’t trust her etc then ends up staying! This is 1 big fix. If I disliked the process so much, I would have bounced regardless of the rules.”

But despite the contestants all staying on for another week, drama is anticipated. As reported by The Sun, Hannah is set for a “secret affair” with 41-year-old Orson Nurse, who finds himself in an unloving marriage to his partner, Richelle.
