The father of 4-year-old Jahmeik Modlin was arrested and charged late Tuesday afternoon in connection with the boy’s death on Monday night.
Laron Modlin, 25, was charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.
Jahmeik was found not breathing in his family’s Harlem apartment on Monday and later died at an area hospital.
The city’s Administration for Children’s Services previously investigated the family for malnutrition — which Jahmeik was suffering from when he died — but investigators did not substantiate the allegation, a law enforcement source said Tuesday.
The child’s 26-year-old mother, Nytavia Ragsdale, was charged Monday night with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.
