AUSTIN, Texas — Police have released a new video of a suspect wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that happened in northwest Austin on Oct. 1.

Police identified 17-year-old Nathan Ockleberry as the person killed in the shooting on Research Boulevard near Spicewood Springs Drive. Two other men were hurt in the incident, while the shooter fled in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a Black or Hispanic man in his late 20s to early 30s. He was last seen wearing a white baseball cap and a dark hoodie.

Officers arrived and found two men in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Ockleberry was pronounced dead on the scene at 3 a.m. The other man was taken to a local hospital. Police say it was later found that a third man was shot and had non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact police at 512-974-TIPS or Capital Area Crime Stoppers through their website or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 could be available for information that leads to an arrest.

Ockleberry’s death is Austin’s 49th homicide of 2024.
