BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The Department of Justice announced that a 23-year-old from Boone County has plead guilty to possession of prepubescent child pornography.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on January 17, 23-year-old Trenton Alan Cremeans had around 115 images and 22 videos of child pornography on his cell phone. The Department of Justice said Cremeans admitted that the images and videos included depictions of prepubescent children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Cremeans also admitted that he downloaded the images and videos online, and used his cell phone to search for child pornography and related information online by using specific search terms, the Department of Justice said.
The Department of Justice said Cremeans is scheduled for sentencing on January 16, 2025 and faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
Cremeans also has to register as a sex offender.
