AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) is investigating the city’s 53rd homicide of the year.
According to the APD, officers responded around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to the Emerson Apartments, located on the 2100 block of Burton Dr.
Once on scene, police found a 20-year-old man suffering from a head injury on the road near the apartment complex.
Life-saving measures were attempted, and the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) arrived shorty after.
The APD said the victim died just before 11 p.m. There is no further information about his identity and a suspect has not yet been identified.
Officers said there is no threat to the public at this time.
