Police found cannabis and more than £13,000 in cash when they raided a flat in Bothwell.
Hamilton Sheriff Court heard the drugs seized had a potential street value of £12,500.
Darren Dundas, 29, admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis at his home in Green Place on November 8 last year.
Lewis Deoy, prosecuting, said that when confronted by police officers with a search warrant Dundas told them: “There’s about a kilo, mate. I won’t lie.”
The fiscal stated: “Officers searched the property and recovered bags of green herbal material as well as scales, gloves and snap bags.
“The total weight of the cannabis was 1.564kg.
“Behind a skirting board in the kitchen the officers found £13,395 in mixed notes. The accused said only some of that cash belonged to him.”
The court heard Dundas has a previous conviction for a similar drugs offence.
Sheriff Colin Dunipace deferred sentence until next month for background reports and warned him: “Be under no illusion. This is a serious matter and the court will look at all options.”
The sheriff ordered forfeiture of the cash seized.
