During Friday’s edition of This Morning, Alison Hammond didn’t hesitate to scold her colleague Jeff Brazier as he made his return to the studio from the United States. Jeff had been across the pond sharing details about ITV’s latest competition with viewers over the past week.
Upon his arrival back in the studio, Jeff confessed that he’d literally just stepped off the plane, sparking a humorous discussion between him and the presenting duo.
When Dermot O’Leary brought up that Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were featured on a massive Times Square billboard, he couldn’t hide his outrage, remarking: “We saw it, I was livid.”
Alison chimed in with clear disappointment, saying: “We missed out man, they cut us out! We got shaded, where were we?!”
Dermot clarified that there were two sides to the billboard, hence there was no space for their faces, however, he noted: “We were there for the promo pictures!”
Jeff steered the conversation away by announcing that he had brought back gifts for them. He won them over by giving Alison a New York baseball cap and gifting Dermot a city-themed mug, which they both appeared to enjoy.
With evident excitement, Alison responded: “Oh stop it! I love this. I love New York, I love the shopping!”
Jeff added: “We did think of you guys because we knew it was going to be you (hosting the show) on Friday.”
Reflecting on his time in New York, Jeff described it as “a lot of fun” detailing how he was set challenges by Cat and Ben to reach various landmarks for each episode, reports the Mirror.
Whilst sharing his experience, Jeff said: “It’s the best, the steam coming out of the sewers, the subway-“. Dermot interrupted with a laugh, jokingly saying: “You’re really selling it!”
Jeff gave Cat and Ben a shock during Monday’s show by showing their faces on a massive billboard in Times Square.
Ben was clearly taken aback, as he responded: “That’s amazing! Jeff, can you please take a picture? ! Send pictures and send them over please.”
Cat was equally astounded, exclaiming: “No way!”
However, those tuning in were less impressed with ITV’s decision to dispatch Jeff to the US solely for the competition promo.
One disgruntled viewer took to Twitter to express their thoughts, commenting: “Remind me why Jeff Brazier needs to be in New York, and Andi Peters in Singapore to promote a competition? ! #thismorning”.
Another irritated fan said: “New York? F****ng really #ThisMorning?”
Another comment read: “Why send him to New York just to sell a competition? Guarantee ITV bang on about net zero as well.”
