This is the moment a “rude” dad attempted to park his car in a stranger’s driveway during the school run. Footage of the shameless moment was captured on Dion Joy’s doorbell outside her home in Tameside.

She claims she spotted a red Toyota on the street outside her home, but she believed it was turning around. However, she soon saw the vehicle pull up onto her driveway, before the driver removed his seatbelt and jumped out of his car.

Dion, 33, recalls staring at him through her window when he then pointed towards the primary school three doors down, reports Manchester Evening News.

The clip then captures Dion calmly telling the brazen man: “No, can you get off my drive please?”. The dad still attempted to convince the mum-of-three to let him stay by mentioning his daughter, but his pleas failed to work as Dion explained her boyfriend was coming home to park there.

Dion went on to ask the man to leave again, telling him: “That’s so rude” before he got back into his car and exited the driveway and drove off to park further down the street, where there were spaces free.

Dion dubbed the driver a “cheeky little get” and said she was riled up after the incident, which happened at around 3.18pm.

The beauty salon owner said she was about to start the school run in 10 minutes and the man would have blocked her car from leaving the two-vehicle driveway. She said that as the incident happened at her home, it stopped her becoming more confrontational. However, she emphasised the plot “isn’t a car park, it’s a driveway”.

Last Thursday, Dion shared the doorbell footage on TikTok and it’s since been viewed 245,000 times. Describing the moment she saw the car, Dion said: “It was the sound of his car that made me stand up and look because it sounded like it was going to fall apart. I thought he was turning around but then he got out of the car and I thought ‘hell no, you cheeky little get’.

“I was a bit angry but I didn’t want to kick off with somebody outside my house who’s going to be there all the time. I wanted to be careful. He tried to explain that he was just going to get his daughter as if it was okay. That was surprising.

“I need to go out on the school run myself so It’s a good job I caught him when I did because he would have blocked me in. I’m glad people agreed with what I said and told me I handled it really well. Some people said I could have left him there for a minute but it’s not a car park, it’s a driveway.”

Dion said the school’s car park is small so she and her neighbours face regular parking issues from parents struggling to pick up their kids.

The salon owner, whose kids are 10, seven and two, said the driver hasn’t tried to park on her drive since. Her video racked up more than 1,000 comments.

One person wrote: “The worst part is if you hadn’t been at the window to say something he’d have just left it there thinking that’s acceptable.” A second said: “I get moody if someone parks outside my house on the school run and that’s not even my land.”

A third added: “You were too polite.” Dion replied: “I agree I was quite tame.” A fourth said: “What was he thinking?”
