Outlander fans are reeling as the stunning new trailer for season seven, part two has confirmed one of the series’ most dramatic storylines.

At the end of the first half of the popular Starz drama’s latest installment, Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) and his time-travelling wife Claire (Caitriona Balfe) were elated to return home to Scotland in the midst of the American Revolution.

However, the latest footage confirms the beloved couple will have to separate yet again when Lord John Grey (David Berry) pleads Claire to return to take care of his dying nephew, Henry (Harry Jarvis).

Later, a tearful Lord Grey informs Claire about some terrible news regarding her husband.

It appears the Highlander may have been killed while they were apart, but the determined healer isn’t convinced.

“I would feel it in my heart if it had stopped,” she says. “Mine would stop too.”

While certain changes have been made to the TV adaptation, in the novels Claire is in danger of being arrested so is compelled to marry Lord Grey for security.

Her new husband is still in love with her supposedly late Scottish true love, though, so they will have to be extra cautious to ensure their marriage of convenience isn’t exposed.

As for Jamie, will he really be killed off in season seven? Or will the woman out of time manage to reunite with her Scottish soldier once again?

Fans are already awestruck by the latest preview of season seven, part two, with one YouTube user calling it “one of if not the most well done trailers I’ve ever seen.”

Another said: “This looks absolutely incredible! I can hardly stand waiting!”

Over on Reddit, fans who are a little more in the know discussed some of the gripping storylines from Gabaldon’s novels still to come.

“That was definitely a jam packed trailer!” someone exclaimed. “I was surprised that they gave us so much, but I’m not complaining.”

“I haven’t read this far in the books yet, but I just went from goosepimples to tears in about 20 seconds flat,” another said. “I’m clearly not emotionally stable enough for this series.”

“I got watery eyes just with this, can’t imagine what the show will do,” one user wrote.

And a final fan vowed: “If Jamie dies I’m gonna lose my s**t.”

Fans have just over a month before Droughtlander finally comes to an end with the November premiere of the second half of season seven.

Shortly after that, the history of Claire and Jamie’s parents will finally be unveiled in the long-awaited spin-off, Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

Outlander season seven part two premieres on Friday, November 22, on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK and on Starz in the US.
