Strictly Come Dancing fans were left scratching their heads on Saturday night due to a ‘wardrobe blunder’ that occurred on the show.

In the latest episode, Pete Wicks made an entrance sporting a grey shirt and black trousers, his hair neatly styled back. Moments later, Shayne Ward also stepped onto the stage donning a grey shirt and black trousers with a similar hairstyle, causing viewers to do a double-take at the strikingly similar ensembles.

Social media was abuzz with comments, with one viewer tweeting: “Why is shayne dressed as pete? #strictly”, while another remarked: “Shayne and Pete look alike this week #Strictly! ” Someone else humorously commented: “me and my friend when we copy each others homework : #strictly” and yet another tweet read: “Shayne there, seems to be morphing into Pete Wicks! #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing #StrictlyComeDancing24 #SCD.”

Shayne and his dance partner Nancy Xu performed an American Smooth to Sam Smith’s Get Here. In contrast, Pete and his professional partner Jowita Przysta took on a Rumba to Oasis’s Don’t Look Back In Anger.

The show recently witnessed DIY SOS host Nick Knowles being the third celebrity to depart from Strictly after a tense dance-off against ex-Coronation Street star Shayne the previous weekend. Nick had just made a comeback to the dance floor after sitting out movie week due to a knee injury, reports the Mirror.

The Strictly dance floor bid farewell to Nick, 62, and his professional partner Luba Mushtuk, who managed a score of just 21 out of a possible 40 points for their Charleston set to ‘Rain On The Roof’ from Paddington 2, placing them near the bottom on last weekend’s leaderboard.

Reflecting on his Strictly journey with host Tess Daly, Nick expressed: “I’ve really, really been surprised by how much I’ve loved doing it and by two things that happen.”

He continued: “One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don’t want to let down your partner. The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes, she’s been amazing. There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series.”

A visibly moved Luba also had words of praise: “I’ve never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you’ll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you.”

Before Nick’s departure, Toyah Willcox had taken her final bow, and Tom Dean was the first celebrity to exit the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing is on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
