A relationship guru has provided insights on what three key elements estranged couples like Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford might ponder if they’re contemplating a reunion down the line. The former This Morning presenters stunned followers in May when they announced their divorce after a 14-year union.

While Eamonn and Ruth, 64, have kept mum about the cause of their parting, and despite both still donning their nuptial bands, the split appears resolute. Nevertheless, in the event of a possible change of heart, relationship expert Jesper Jensen from ExpertsEnAmour has highlighted how a come-back could materialise.

Speaking exclusively to Reach PLC, Jensen advised: “Eamonn and Ruth have a history, and sometimes that can work in your favour if both have worked through past issues. For any chance of getting back together, there needs to be a genuine desire to forgive, heal, and rebuild trust.”

Ignoring these aspects, he cautioned, will likely lead to “the same old problems will resurface”. The couple tied the knot in 2010 and share 22 year old son Jack.

Eamonn is also dad to three grown-up children from his previous marriage with Gabrielle Holmes. When recently questioned by an Instagram user about her ring-wearing, Ruth responded succinctly: “Because I am still married,” reports Devon Live.

Despite still donning his wedding band, Eamonn is romantically involved with Katie Alexander, a relationship counsellor and mother-of-three who happens to be 22 years his junior. Relationship expert Jesper weighed in on the TV presenter’s new love interest, saying: “When someone is emotionally ready, the timing may not matter as much as it seems.”

He cautioned that diving into a new relationship swiftly after ending a long-standing one might bring complications, noting: “Eamonn’s experience with Ruth will shape his approach with his new partner.”

The specialist pointed out the importance of reflection on past relationships, adding: “If he’s really reflected on his past relationship, this could be a good foundation, but only if both partners are willing to deal with any emotional baggage.”
