BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a leader on the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced grants from different federal organizations and agencies to deliver money for projects across West Virginia.
Listed below are some places in the WVVA area that received funding.
Bluestone Health Association, Inc.- $600,000 in HHS Health Resources and Services Administration
Williamson Health and Wellness Center, Inc.- $600,000 in HHS HRSA grant
City of Hinton- $3.25 million in infrastructure project funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC)
Cool Ridge-Flat Top Public Service District- $3.1 million from ARC for a waterline extension project
Town of Davy- Over one million dollars in ARC funding to modernize its water treatment plant
Rural Appalachian Improvement League- $493,592 from ARC for workforce development
Region 1 Planning and Development Council- $50,000 from ARC for the New River Trail Action Plan
McDowell County Public Service District- Over 3.4 million dollars from the U.S. Economic Development Administration for waterline extension projects
