The Diplomat fans are eagerly awaiting the release of season two, with many wondering when it will be released and who will star in the popular political drama.

As for the cast of The Diplomat’s second season, it wouldn’t be the same without the diplomat herself, Kate Wyler, played by Felicity and The Americans star Keri Russell.

She is expected to be joined once again by Ali Ahn as Eidra Graham, Rory Kinnear as Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge and David Gyasi as Austin Dennison.

It has also been confirmed that Rufus Sewell, known for his roles in Scoop and The Holiday, will return as Kate’s husband Hal Wyler, following the suspenseful cliffhanger of season one.

Joining the original cast members of the show is The West Wing actress Allison Janney, who will be stepping into the role of US Vice President Grace Penn.

The official trailer for the second season of The Diplomat is now available for viewing, offering a glimpse of what’s in store.

The teaser begins with a throwback to the finale of the first series, where a car explosion in central London leaves fans wondering if Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell) has met his end.

However, it soon becomes apparent that despite some injuries, Hal survives, with Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) steadfastly by his side during his recovery.

But when three Americans are killed, Kate suspects that the threat originates from “inside the house”, implying No. 10 Downing Street so who is truly orchestrating these attacks?

The Diplomat season two premieres on Thursday, October 31, on Netflix.
