Dumfriesshire charity Kate’s Kitchen in Annan has thanked a number of groups who have made generous donations of food towards its work during the harvest festival period.

They include: St Columba’s Primary School, Eastriggs and Dornock Playgroup, All Saints Church Gretna, United Reformed Church Annan, Brydekirk Church, Lochmaben Church and Eaglesfield Church.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “Your kindness is much appreciated.”

One of the many services provided in the community by Kate’s Kitchen is an affordable food shop that is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 2pm, to support anyone who is struggling to make ends meet. Those in need can pick 15 items and pay £5 towards the cost of the shopping. Donations are always welcome.

Kate’s Kitchen also has a supply of various sizes of nappies that are free for families that need them. Those who need nappies are asked to either pop into the office at 52 High Street, Annan, or they can be collected from the charity shop at 43 High Street, Annan.

It is also a period dignity collection point offering free sanitary products which can also be collected from both the office or the shop.
