KVUE is working to learn more about the status of the leak.
AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Fire Department (AFD) confirmed crews responded to a gas leak Tuesday morning at Akins High School.
AFD said it had crews on the scene just before 8 a.m. for an odor investigation. Two units responded and confirmed there was an active gas leak.
A tech from Texas Gas Service came out roughly 25 minutes later, and AFD confirmed it no longer has crews on the scene as of 12:30 p.m.
KVUE has reached out to both Texas Gas Service and Austin ISD to learn more about the status of the leak.
