For many of us, condensation is an unwelcome visitor during this time of year – messing up our windows and being all-round annoying to clean. Window cleaning is hardly a fun job anyway – let alone if you add condensation into the mix.

But with the Kärcher Window Vac WV 2 Plus, which is currently £54.99 down from £69.99 at Amazon, you’ll finish those jobs in no time and with far better results. This window vacuum cleaner sweeps through condensation, grime and soap scum with ease, with a streak-free finish that’s sure to have all your surfaces sparkling.

Its light, weighing just 600g, and quiet — in all, a very unobtrusive bit of kit. The wide suction nozzle at 280mm covers large areas quickly and efficiently, and its water tank is easy to remove and empty without inadvertently splashing yourself.

The battery will last 35 minutes on a full charge, and you can leave it docked between uses. Included with the WV 2 Plus are the gadget itself, its charger, a spray bottle, wiper, a microfibre cloth, one nozzle, and 20ml of Karcher’s window cleaning concentrate.

Customers rave about its ease of use and excellent results, with Amazon users awarding an average of 4.6 out of 5 stars across almost 8,000 ratings. One five-star review hails the WV2 as a “winter essential”.

They continued: “This product has proven to be an invaluable solution to our winter window condensation woes. Its lightweight, easy-to-handle design, quick recharge capability, and exceptional cleaning performance make it a top-notch choice. If you’re in search of a reliable and efficient tool to combat condensation, look no further – this product gets the job done effortlessly.”

“Does a great job,” said another five-star review. “Super quiet, though the battery life lets it down slightly. Easy to use, though a bit fiddly to attach the business end to the water tank each time you empty and rebuild.” Another said that if you’re not convinced, you soon will be: “Very good a picking up water. Light and not noisy. An item that you might think a waste of money until you buy one.”

However, some had more critical notes to share. “The head itself is a bit too bulky, you are restricted when say trying to get under and around objects, especially a shower cubicle/space,” said one review. Another added: “It’s not very flexible and you can’t get right to the bottom of the window. It might be okay for cleaning bathroom tiles or removing excess water when cleaning floors.”

There are some other solid brands to consider in this space. A cheaper option over the Karcher might be the Tower Cordless Handheld Window Vacuum for £26 at Argos. While it comes at a higher price point, the Kärcher Window Vac WV 2 Plus is one of the best-reviewed condensation-beating devices on the market, but if you’re looking to save a bit of money and aren’t fussed about having the latest model, the older Kärcher WV1 Window Vac is now £34 on Wowcher.
