Duncan Ferguson has reportedly been axed at Inverness after administrators pulled the trigger.

The crisis hit club were officially placed in administration and deducted 15 points as the Highlands face a major fight to retain their League One status. They are now on -3 points with Dumbarton their nearest rivals on nine. The Everton hero has been working without wages to help ease the pressures on the club while he’s also been putting his hand in his own pocket to help pay PETROL and other expenses for his players.

However, it is now reported that the BDO accountancy team have told him his time at the club is over alongside number two Gary Bollan and goalie coach Stuart Garden in an afternoon meeting say the Scottish Sun.

We told you previously how James Stephen, Malcom Cohen and Shane Crookes at BDO have been appointed joint administrators at Inverness. They will now aim to secure the long term future of the club – and they’ve started that process by axing the top team coaching trio.

After placing the club in administration, a spokesperson at BDO said: “We can confirm a formal appointment has been made and Inverness Caledonian Thistle is now in administration. We understand this will be a difficult and uncertain time for the club, its staff, its loyal fan base and the local community. The Administrators will be in a position to provide further information and their plan to seek to secure the long term future of the club in due course.”

The decision over Ferguson is only the start with other members of staff, players and those involved in the club under threat of losing jobs in a bid to balance the books. A press conference is scheduled for Thursday where the administrator will spell out his views on the club’s survival hopes for the long-term with cost-cutting to continue in that period. Inverness are on the road at Dumbarton on Saturday as they bid to keep morale on the field up and try claw some of the gap they must now make up to remain in Scotland’s third tier. It is yet unknown what kind of team they will be able to field at the Sons.
