Singing star Colin Murray will take centre stage in a hometown concert this Saturday, October 26.
The Hamilton musician is to perform at St Mary’s Episcopal Church on Auchingramont Road, with the programme including the Songs of the Sea, the Songs of the Fleet and the Blue Bird.
Colin will be joined by for the Stanford Centenary concert by accompanist Colin Taylor and the choirs of St Mary’s, directed by David Hamilton.
Described as “one of Scotland’s finest young singers”, Colin is a former pupil of Townhill Primary and Earnock High – where he says music teacher Suzanne Fulton played a huge part in “keeping music an integral part of his life during his teenage years”.
He sang with the National Youth Choir of Scotland and is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow.
After making his professional debut with the Ferguson Ensemble at Cadzow Parish Church, he has sung with Scottish Opera, Grange Park Opera, the St Magnus Festival and at Florence’s New Generation Festival.
Saturday’s concert at the Hamilton venue begins at 3.30pm and admission is by donation programme costing from £1 to £7.
