MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. -Mercer County’s Child Advocacy Center is encouraging local law enforcement as well as community supporters across the region to participate in their No Shave for the Brave fundraising event.

This is the eighth year the event has returned and those interested can register for $25.

The donations gathered help to provide resources to child victims of abuse in our community. Those families who use the center’s resources are never charged.

The Executive Director for Mercer County Child Protect says this event is a great way to provide needs in the community while also bringing everyone together.

“Well, it’s a great way to raise some funds for the work that we do. For the children who have been exposed to abuse, neglect, violence and crime in our community. It’s also just a great way of showcasing our partnerships and community supporters,” said Shiloh Woodard.

This event is open to the public as well.

Prizes will be awarded for “best beard” and “most money raised.”

Anyone interested in signing up or donating to the cause, can do so by texting CPMC to 26989 or by visiting the organization’s website here.
