The Lincoln Lawyer season three oncluded with a significant cliffhanger, leaving viewers questioning who was in Mickey Haller’s boot?

The popular crime and legal drama returned to Netflix after over a year’s absence for its third series, once again comprising 10 episodes.

In this instalment, the charismatic lawyer Mickey Haller, portrayed by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, was tasked with defending his client Julian La Cosse, played by Devon Graye, who stood accused of murdering Gloria Dayton (Fiona Rene).

By the conclusion of the third series, Mickey had successfully kept Julian out of jail and was riding high, celebrating the victory at an after party. However, it was the events following the party that have got Netflix subscribers buzzing, reports the Mirror.

As Mickey drove home, he was pulled over by a police officer who requested the car’s registration, licence and insurance documents due to a missing licence plate.

But when the officer spotted blood dripping from the side of the car and asked Mickey to open the boot, a dead body was discovered inside.

Who was in the trunk of Mickey Haller’s car?

The third season of The Lincoln Lawyer wrapped up with the shocking revelation of the corpse of Mickey’s former client Sam Scales, played by Christopher Thornton, in the boot.

Sam made his debut in the first season of the Netflix drama when he was brought to court for fraudulently creating a cancer charity to swindle money from people.

Despite being caught, he didn’t learn his lesson and ran another charity scam in the courtroom called Homes4youth.com, asking for donations for foster children.

Sam was later spotted with another suspected scam at a supermarket, this time collecting money for service animals for veterans.

Mickey had previously made a joke about killing Sam in front of an audience, which could now be used as evidence against him since his former client has turned up dead.

So, will Mickey end up behind bars for a murder he didn’t commit or will he manage to defend himself successfully?

Fortunately, the tale isn’t finished yet as the streaming platform has already confirmed The Lincoln Lawyer for a fourth season.

The Lincoln Lawyer is available to watch on Netflix.
