Strictly Come Dancing professional Pasha Kovalev was visibly moved as he discussed the poignant details surrounding an upcoming tribute show for his late friend and former co-star Robin Windsor.

On November 3, a special event titled ‘Robin Windsor-The Final Act’ will be held to honour Robin’s memory, with friends and fellow Strictly stars coming together for the celebration of his life.

The event is being organised by Pasha alongside Anya Garnis, and will be hosted by Lisa Riley and Anton Du Beke.

Robin, who passed away in February at the age of 44, was a beloved member of the Strictly Come Dancing family from 2010 to 2013. His legacy and impact on the show were evident when Pasha appeared on Thursday’s Good Morning Britain.

Host Susanna Reid, who had partnered with Robin for a Children In Need special in 2011, expressed her wish that Robin could witness the outpouring of love and respect at the tribute: “I would love Robin to be there at the show, I would love Robin to know what everyone was saying about him!

Pasha, reflecting on Robin’s presence, shared: “I was just saying, it feels like he’s always around in a way, it’s strange, but it feels like he’s always there! ” However, the weight of Robin’s absence became apparent as Pasha continued, “I think it’s still settling, the realisation he’s not going to be there…” His voice trailed off as he fought back tears over the heartbreaking reality, reports the Mirror.

Anya, also present during the interview, echoed Pasha’s sentiments, remarking on Robin’s vibrant personality: “He was so bubbly like Pasha said, his energy was infectious. So it’s very hard to understand that he’s not there.”

Susanna was visibly moved on Good Morning Britain earlier this year as she struggled to announce the death of Robin.

The presenter was too shocked to read the breaking news and asked her colleague Ed Balls to step in.

Following the announcement of Robin’s passing, a heartbroken Susanna held back tears while paying homage to him alongside fellow presenter Richard Arnold, who was equally affected by the sad news.

Susanna expressed her deep affection for Robin: “Robin was larger than life and I fell in love with him and fell in love with dancing when I danced with him back then [Children In Need’s 2011 special]. He was an absolutely remarkable dancer, incredibly strong, so creative and he was just so enthusiastic about dancing. I just adored him. He was the most incredible personality.”
