A kind barber changed a homeless man’s life by giving him a free haircut, which completely transformed his appearance.
Joshua Santiago is a barber known for founding the organisation “Empowering Cuts.” His mission is to provide free haircuts to people experiencing homelessness across the United States.
By offering these grooming services, Santiago aims to restore dignity and confidence to individuals who might not have access to regular hair care. His initiative has received media attention for its impact and dedication to serving marginalised communities.
He’s garnered upwards of 471,000 followers who love watching him help those in need. And in a recent post, he helped a homeless man sporting a messy curly frock with facial hair.
The barber gets to work on his curls by shaving off the top part, before turning to the side where he gave him a nice shave. After he starts trimming part of his beard, he resumes the on the top part of his hair.
Santiago cleans off the small hairs from his face, as well as smartening up the locks at the hairline. His client looks unrecognisable by the end of the appointment – and people have flooded the TikTok comments section with praise.
Since the transformation was shared online, the video has garnered 5,400 likes and hundreds of responses. One said: “This is someone’s baby. Thank you for caring enough to make them feel again.”
While another added: “Yes I love this.” And a third commented: “Thank you for giving people back to their dignity.” Then a fourth gushed: “Beautiful and heartbreaking. Much respect to all.”
