Farmer and TV sensation Kaleb Cooper has shared that he was with his pal Jeremy Clarkson during the moment the latter urgently needed heart surgery.

The 26-year-old made an appearance on Thursday’s edition of This Morning, offering raw insights into Jeremy’s current health state and chatted about their hit series, Clarkson’s Farm. Engaging with This Mornings hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Kaleb expressed that Jeremy was bouncing back quite well.

Initiating the talk, Ben expressed: “We were all quite shocked when he came out and talked about the fact that he had to have some heart surgery, because you know he lives his life at a million miles an hour. He’s got loads of stuff going on at the farm and stuff.”

Asking after the team’s sentiment, Ben queried: “That must have been worrying for all of you as well Kaleb? ” To which Kaleb confirmed: “Yeah, no it was.”

Shedding light on the incident, Kaleb mentioned: “I mean I was there with him when it happened and all I can say is he’s definitely a fighter. He’s a strong man,” reports the Mirror. He continued: “He went in, he had the procedure and he’s doing really good.”

Probing further into the possible catalysts of Jeremy’s health scare, Ben inquired: “Is it as a result of opening the farm or is it as a result of opening the pub? Which I’m understanding is one of those things that is driving his blood pressure through the roof, trying to cope with all the issues with the pub.”

Kaleb amusingly noted: “Well the good thing is that when he’s not on the farm he’s at the pub which is great for me because of course he’s not there on the farm. So therefore I can get on with my day job and do everything easily,” and cracked a joke about the ease of his work with a quip.

Discussing Jeremy’s latest entrepreneurial endeavour with his new public house, Kaleb further observed: “It’s extremely challenging. Whenever you start a new business, I think you have challenges that you’ve not faced before. So that it is a thing to take into consideration.”

Jeremy alarmed fans with news from his column in The Times, recounting how he came perilously close to death due to heart complications. Ahead of emergency surgery, the Who Wants to be a Millionaire host detailed disturbing symptoms while vacationing, including difficulty descending stairs without assistance, experiencing pins and needles, clamminess, and chest tightness.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
