The ninth season of Married at First Sight UK is now well underway and there has been no shortage of drama so far.
Viewers have been hooked on the twists and turns that have unfolded in the latest series, including Hannah and Stephen’s explosive marriage breakdown, bride Holly’s disappearance from the experiment and in the most recent episode, the shock walk out of Ryan and Sionainn.
As fans of the show await their latest fix, many have shared that they’ve had a sense of déjà vu while watching the show, particularly when it comes to bride Lacey Martin.
Office manager Lacey, a fan favourite, is coupled with engineer Nathan Campbell, with their marriage going from strength to strength throughout the series. While cracks have started to show among the other couples, 24-year-old Nathan and 27-year-old Lacey have gone through the show relatively unscathed.
In-laws week proved the couple’s biggest challenge, with Lacey’s mum giving vegetarian Nathan a harsh grilling while they prepared chicken fajitas which he then couldn’t eat. After Nathan called Lacey’s mum’s cooking ‘bottom bin’ in an effort to lighten the mood, it sparked further tension with his bride’s family.
But before Lacey signed up to marry a stranger and go through the trials and tribulations of the experiment, she had previously taken another stab at TV dating.
The MAFS UK star and her twin sister Paige both appeared on the twelfth series of Celebs Go Dating. In episode 15, the pair briefly chatted with Love Island’s Adam Collard and Made in Chelsea’s Mark-Francis who were looking to find love on the show.
Celebs Go Dating isn’t Lacey and Paige’s only TV credit. The pair also appeared on the ITV2 dating show Dress To Impress, which according to the show’s synopsis, sees “three fashion savvy competitors take part in a shopping showdown to win a blind date with a style conscious singleton.”
In a clip of the show shared to the sisters’ TikTok page, Lacey says to the cameras: “My party trick on a night out is doing the splits. I love doing splits up the wall, I’m like a bendy ruler,” adding: “I’m not going to have this body forever so I might as well just get it out now.”
Lacey appeared to go solo on her next TV venture; Channel 4 reality show Fred’s Last Resort. Hosted by Fred Sirieix, the show’s premise was to send a group of young Brits to run a luxury hotel in France over a summer. Lacey was one of the 12 contestants vying for a job and a cash prize.
Married at First Sight UK continues tonight at 9pm on E4
