Two young women in a six-year romantic relationship have opened up about the barrage of negative comments they face due to their similar appearances, with many assuming they are sisters.

Princess revealed that much of the criticism comes from “old men.” while her partner Jess said she didn’t understand the hostility: “I don’t know why. They’re so mean.”

She added that they often get remarks and messages like: “Why are you looking at your sister? That’s incest.”

The couple, who spoke on the Love Don’t Judge podcast, admitted that their resemblance was part of what drew them to each other initially, and now they look even more alike. According to Princess, when they first met, Jess had a more “basic” fashion sense, but over time, they’ve intentionally developed a coordinated style, complete with matching outfits and haircuts.

They even have matching tattoos, although Princess admits they’ve lost count of how many they have. Jess clarified that while their tattoos are similar, they’re not identical: “Our face tattoos say different things because we are individuals even though we’re together a lot and we dress the same.”

Princess further explained that they didn’t always look so alike: “We started looking more alike when we decided to dye our hair together. We started social media a year ago and from the first time we ever posted, everything went viral.”

Their “Satanic” goth-inspired style certainly turns heads in the rural Kansas community they call home. Princess, however, is unfazed by the opinions of others, stating: “judgment really doesn’t affect us because we don’t live our life for anybody except for ourselves.”

Despite receiving harsh comments from online trolls and being criticised as poor dancers, Jess sees a silver lining, remarking that every insult is actually a compliment: “You took the time out of your day to say something about us instead of worrying about yourself.”

The duo has carved out a significant presence online, amassing a following they refer to as a “cult.”

Princess sheds light on their content, saying: “We don’t really do any PDA or touching or kissing because we just get backlash from it in a way that affects us.”

They’ve embraced their unique community, with Princess adding: “We started a cult and we let everybody know that this is our cult these are the roles and you’re more than welcome to join.”
