BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Beckley Police Department said no weapons were found at Woodrow Wilson High School after the school was placed on lock-down on Oct. 24.

According to the Beckley Police Department, the lock-down was put in place shortly before 10:30 a.m. after the police department says a student overheard a conversation that suggested another student may have a weapon.

School staff began lock-down procedures and contacted emergency services, which led to a large response to the high school.

The Beckley Police Department says the students involved were found, and it was determined that no weapon was on school campus and no threat currently existed.

The lock-down was lifted at 11:30 a.m. and the school resumed normal operation, police said.

Police are still investigating the incident.
