A woman’s body was discovered stuffed in the garbage can behind her boyfriend’s home.

Cops responding to a call about a deceased woman found the remains of Julie Anne Sanetra, 38, in the backyard of a home in Costa Mesa, California, around 2.30pm on Tuesday.

At the time, ‘the victim’s friend was identified as a suspect’ and arrested in the city of Glendale in neighboring Los Angeles County, stated the Costa Mesa Police Department.

The suspect turned out to be Sanetra’s boyfriend.

‘Detectives were able to establish that the arrestee and the victim were in a relationship,’ stated the police department in an update on Wednesday.

Daniel Allen Aldrich, 49, was arrested on suspicion of murder at a family member’s home on the 3700 block of El Lado Drive in Glendale.

‘We were able to, with the help of Glendale Police Department, bring him into custody very safely and quickly,’ said Costa Mesa police Deputy Chief Joyce LaPointe.

‘It’s always good during these investigations to quickly be able to bring resolution and arrest a suspect, and that’s exactly what our CMPD detectives did.’

The home on the 1900 block of Maple Avenue where the Irvine woman’s body was found was her boyfriend’s, police said.

LaPointe noted that it was in ‘a nice residential area’ and ‘this is something that we don’t see very often here’.

A neighbor, Barbara Bruce, told KTLA that she believed Sanetra moved in with Aldrich ‘four or five’ months ago.

The Orange County District Attorney is weighing charges against Aldrich, of Costa Mesa.

Anyone with information on the crime is urged to contact the Costa Mesa Police Department.

Sanetra’s remains was found more than four months after a missing mother-of-seven’s body was discovered in the trash behind an abandoned building in Paddock Hills, Ohio. A 50-year-old man was arrested in connection with the 30-year-old victim’s death, and charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
