FAIRLEA, W.Va. – Thursday night was a perfect fall evening. The weather was cold but not too bad, and there were no clouds in the sky, and of course, there was soccer on hand.

This wasn’t just any soccer match, this one was to move on to regionals.

For the second year, the Oak Hill Lady Red Devils and the Greenbrier East Lady Spartans met up in the sectional championships.

In 2023, East walked away with a tight victory 1 nil.

Fast Forward a year later, that was more of the same but this time around, the Lady Spartans defended their home field, winning 2-1 with goals from Caroline Dotson who took the lead 1-0, and Ava Workman who secured it in the final 10 minutes.

The Lady Spartans are back at it Tuesday when they will go for a Regional title with a chance to play in the State tournament.
