Boots customers are rushing to snap up a designer fragrance that’s been slashed by £44 as part of the retailer’s Star Gift promotion. The sought-after Black Opium Le Parfum, usually priced at £110 for a 50ml bottle, is now available for just £66, making it an attractive buy for those doing their Christmas shopping.

The perfume, a new 2022 addition to the highly acclaimed Black Opium range by Yves Saint Laurent, was crafted by four renowned perfumers: Nathalie Lorson, Olivier Cresp, Marie Salamagne, and Honorine Blanc. It features scents of Cinnamon, Pear, and Green Mandarin, creating an enticing mix of spicy and fruity top notes that are complemented by a heart of Solar Notes, Jasmine Sambac, and Orange Blossom.

The base is particularly intricate, staying true to the fragrance’s reputation for vanilla prominence with elements of Madagascar Vanilla, Bourbon Vanilla, Vanilla Absolute, Coffee, Vanilla Orchid, and Patchouli.

With an impressive average score of 4.9 out of 5 from a total of 692 reviews, and 98 percent of surveyed reviewers recommending it, Black Opium Le Parfum has clearly won over its users.

One satisfied customer commented: “I love this scent for both day and night wear, it’s long-lasting and smells so feminine and cute. Definitely a good one for my holiday.”

Another added: “A rich, luxurious expensive fragrance. Love the vanilla and musky and oriental undertones of this sensual perfume. One spray lasts forever so no need to apply it throughout the day or night. A must-have perfume to add to anyone’s collection.”, reports Nottinghamshire Live.

One thrilled customer shared: “This is a great addition to the Black Opium family of scents. I love them all and this scent is beautiful. It’s Black Opium with a big shot of vanilla. It makes the scent more creamy and sultry, and almost warm. The coffee cuts through the sweetness of the vanilla and makes for a gorgeous scent.”

Another said enthusiastically: “This is a provocative gorgeous scent and unsurprisingly has a real cult following. My sister loved this scent on me and so have already treat her to a bottle for her birthday, and I get compliments all day long. A favourite for me!”

However, not everyone was as captivated. One user pointed out: “I thought this was overly sweet. I prefer the original. Performance however is quite good and sillage about one arm’s length.”

You’ll also find the original Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Eau de Parfum at Look Fantastic for £53.60. Fans who love the YSL scent also enjoy perfumes such as Burberry Women Goddess Eau de Parfum, £68 at Next, and the Kayali Vanilla Perfume, £98 at Sephora.
