Armed cops have locked down a road in Glasgow after reports of a gun being discharged.

Officers scrambled to the Drumoyne Road in the Govan area of the city at around 4pm this afternoon, Friday, October 25, after being alerted to a ‘firearm being discharged within premises.’

Locals in the area have been told they are not at risk but are advised to stay away from the area. One bystander on social media explained how police had taped off Drumoyne Road.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Armed police are in attendance in the Drumoyne Road area of Glasgow following a report of a firearm being discharged within a premises. Officers were called around 4pm.

“There is not believed to be any wider risk to the public however people are advised to avoid the area.”
