A Scots man has died after being found injured in the street as cops launch a probe into his death.

Police rushed to Morgan Street in Hamilton at around 6.55pm on Saturday, October 26, where the unidentified man was taken to Hairmyres Hospital and pronounced dead.

Officers are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, which has been described as ‘unexplained’, reports Glasgow Live.

An increased police presence in the area is expected while enquiries are carried out. Any concerned locals are urged to speak to officers. Detectives are also asking anyone who can assist with their investigation to contact them.

Chief Inspector Neil Smith said: “Around 6.55pm on Saturday, 26 October 2024, we were called to Morgan Street, Hamilton. An as-yet unidentified man was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Officers are currently working to establish his identity and the exact circumstances surrounding his death. A postmortem examination will take place in due course, and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

“There is an increased police presence in the area while officers carry out their enquiries, and anyone with concerns is asked to speak to them. Anyone with information that may assist our enquiries is asked to contact 101 quoting reference number 2991 of 26 October.”
