Rangers fans unveiled a banner threatening to ‘force change’ and accusing decision-makers of ‘ineptitude’ before their clash with St Mirren at Ibrox.

It’s been a poor start to the season under Philippe Clement who is under serious pressure even despite Thursday night’s thumping 4-0 win over Steaua Bucharest. They went into the clash with Saints already trailing leaders Aberdeen by nine points having won just four of their opening eight league games.

It’s been a tumultuous season off the pitch too, their temporary relocation to Hampden still rankling while they are yet to appoint a chief executive to replace James Bisgrove, who left for Saudi Arabia earlier this year. Director of football operations Creag Robertson is the latest to signal his departure, while former chairman John Bennett stepped down due to health reasons.

Before last weekend’s game with Kilmarnock, which Rangers went on to lose 1-0, the Union Bears unveiled a banner demanding the the ‘mismanagement of Rangers must stop and stop now.’ And now they’ve doubled down with a new one reading: “Your ineptitude is destroying our club. Time for fans to force change.”
