Coleen Rooney is one of the huge names that’s been thrown in the mix for the rumoured I’m a Celebrity 2024 line up.

The beloved ITV show, hosted by iconic duo Ant and Dec, is set to return to screens in a matter of weeks with Coleen predicted to make history as the highest paid contestant to ever feature on the show, surpassing Nigel Farage’s 2023 sum of £1.5 million.

The 38-year-old’s rumoured reality stint comes just two years after the infamous Wagatha Christie trial when Coleen successfully defended herself against libel claims after accusing Rebekah Vardy of selling stories to the press.

Rebekah herself also previously starred on I’m a Celeb in 2017 but PR expert and Head of Talent at Press Box PR Lynn Carratt has revealed that Coleen’s motives for appearing on the show have nothing to do with Vardy.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Lynn claims that Coleen, who has a net worth of around £15.1m could potentially pocket an extra £5m if she does make her jungle debut.

But she insists money is also not Coleen’s motivator as she argues that this is the perfect time for Coleen to ‘pick back up her career and develop it’. The PR expert believes the mum-of-four will be excited to focus on her career after taking time off to care for her family and prioritising her husband Wayne’s football career.

Although Lynn doesn’t believe her feud with Rebekah Vardy is her motive for appearing on the show, there’s every chance that Coleen will be likely to spill the tea on the drama and give her version of events.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, she said: “Even though she is rumoured to be the highest-paid celeb ever on the show, I don’t believe for her it is about the money. She and Wayne already have enough money to last them the rest of their lives. Coleen built a successful career for herself in the past but she turned down a lot of opportunities when she became a mum.

“She even upped sticks from her beloved Liverpool to live in Washington while Wayne played for DC United. His career came first. Now Wayne is back working in the UK, it is Coleen’s time to pick back up her career and develop it.

“She will really want to make her family proud. There is no better show to do it on than I’m Celebrity, as it can show how likeable and tenacious a person can be.”

Lynn added: “Coleen could definitely make around £5 million if she does well in fashion and family brands. Asda paid her £3 million back in 2010 to front a George campaign and Littlewoods paid her £2 million. She’ll likely bring out her own fashion edit with one of the affordable brands, which could earn her a big sum.

“She’ll be well aware that Rebekah Vardy previously competed on the show in 2017 and was the fourth star to be evicted after 16 days, so I’m sure Coleen will be aiming to top that.

“Producers will be hoping Coleen will be spilling tea while being a campmate, and viewers have already been glued to the Rooney documentary and Coleen: The Wagatha Story. We know Coleen isn’t averse to spilling the tea, so let’s hope there is plenty more to spill…”
