NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) – A fight at an apartment complex in Tennessee on Saturday led to one person being stabbed and two cars totaled, according to witnesses.

A witness of the fight at the Nob Hill Apartment Complex in Nashville said one victim has his hand severed.

The witness, who is unnamed, said his brother-in-law was trying to go to work while there was a large party in the apartment complex parking lot. The brother-in-law asked the group to quiet down, which allegedly started the fight.

“The group got angry and tried to attack him, there were eight people, and so my brother-in-law fled, he ran away and they damaged his car in the chase,” the witness said after being translated..

At some point, he said they caught up to the brother-in-law and someone pulled out a machete. During the fight, the witness said one man cut another man’s hand off.

Police confirmed that someone was taken to the hospital with injuries from a stabbing.

The witness said there needs to be a change in the apartment complex.

“What happened is really bad. We are tired of this behavior. I don’t know what’s wrong with some people,” he said.

Neighbors at the complex said it was scary to have all this violence, especially with so many families living in the area.

“They don’t remember that there are lots of families here who came here to live a better life,” the witness said.

Police are still investigating. There is no update on the condition of the victim.
