Viewers of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing have been left split over Tess Daly’s recent fashion statement.

Audience members took to social media to voice their opinions on her garment selection, with reactions ranging from admiration to bemusement.

Tess made her appearance in a striking black off-the-shoulder maxi dress, but not everyone was convinced by her look, drawing some unusual comparisons from viewers, reports the Express.

One person said: “What is Tess wearing? Bin liner? Sorry. #strictly.”

Someone else added: “Assuming it’s bin day round Tess’ tomorrow morning as she’s come dressed in the bin-bag.”

Another reminder of household chores coinciding with Tess’s outfit choice came from someone who commented: “Just remembered it’s bin day tomorrow. Thanks Tess. #strictly.”

One tweet read: “Tess turning up the sexiness by wearing a bin bag for the tonight’s show #Strictly #SCD #StrictlyComeDancing.”

Away from the sartorial debates, Strictly professional Amy Dowden received medical care on Saturday night after her latest performance with celebrity partner JB Gill caused her health concerns.

The Strictly pro could not participate in Sunday’s result segment due to an illness acquired behind the scenes. It was confirmed that an ambulance arrived at the scene as a cautionary measure, though Amy later reported feeling “much better.”

Delighted about moving forward in the competition, an ecstatic JB Gill told Claudia Winkleman: “Honestly, I’m beside myself and Amy of course is gonna be so happy that we’re through to icons week. It’s an amazing feeling.”

It was later unveiled that Punam and Gorka were the most recent pair to be ousted. The TV doctor went up against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu in the dance off, with all judges choosing to save the ex-Coronation Street star.

Following Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke’s unanimous decision to favour Shayne and Nancy’s Paso Doble over Punam and Gorka’s Tango, head judge Shirley Ballas concurred she would have made the same choice.

However, despite her exit, Punam maintained she was “really proud” of herself.

She expressed: “I am really proud of myself. You know I’ve taken on something that’s so out of my comfort zone. The one thing that I’ve very much learnt is to say yes more, and that there is no point in your life when you can stop learning new skills.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday 2nd November at 6:30pm on BBC One with the results show on Sunday 3rd November at 7:20pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
