BRAMWELL, W. Va. -On Saturday night, a new Halloween event returned to Bramwell for its second year, bringing festive fun to the historic downtown, with some new additions as well.

Bramwell started their “Spooktacular” event last year to give the town more events throughout the year and to introduce the Victorian town the younger generation.

The night is divided into two parts: “the Bramwell Boo” earlier in the evening with pumpkin painting, crafts, a costume contest and more and the “Haunted Happenings” later that night. This included a haunted house organized by the Bramwell Fire Department and a new twist on the town’s classic ghost tour with a mystery element. letting guests ‘travel back in time’ to solve a murder.

“…We have two town residents that really have kind of headed it up, Rodney and Felicia Holcomb, they’ve done an amazing job, and they’ve partnered with a lot of other town residents to get a kind of… early nineteen hundreds… the coal era… vibe going along… ” says Heather Bennett, organizer, Bramwell Spooktacular, “…as they hear the stories as they go along the tour, then at the end, the detective comes out who is the Mayor of Bramwell that he gets to help them figure out who actually did it.”

Bennett says they had a great turnout, with kids enjoying all of the all-ages activities the Spooktacular offers. She thanks the people who donated to make this event possible.
