A British soap star has been arrested over allegations of historic sexual abuse against five teenage boys. Cops raided his home this month over the historic sex crime claims.
The allegations date back to the 1990s, when the actor featured in some high-profile shows alongside a string of famous faces, The Mirror reports.
The unnamed actor was held for several hours before being released on bail. The abuse allegations, which he denies, are said to have left his family, including his partner, stunned.
Police are believed to have seized computers and documents from the man’s home during the raid, while seeking evidence of alleged abuse of five victims.
A spokesperson for the force confirmed to The Sun: “Officers investigating allegations relating to the 1990s detained a man.
“He was arrested on suspicion of several sexual offences relating to five men who were teenage boys at the time of the alleged offending. He has been conditionally bailed while enquiries continue.”
