Dylan Watret admits he’ll probably never score another goal like it as long as he plays.

But the 18-year-old was just happy to savour the wonder strike which got Ayr back on track at Airdrie.

The highly touted right back has already been turning heads in the right places with some impressive displays this season.

Manchester United and Arsenal are among the English giants to have sent scouts to watch the rising star.

And Watret’s highlight reel winner against the Diamonds is sure to have put his name in plenty of conversations at the weekend.

However, the grounded teen insists he’s happy to let others do the talking.

He smiled: “It’s probably one of the best goals I’ll ever score. Although hopefully I’ll have a few more to come!

“I’ve been told about big clubs watching but I just try to ignore that and focus on my game.

“Whatever comes in the future is for then. I just play every game as it comes and don’t look too far ahead. I’ve been here since I was nine years old and it’s all I’ve ever known.

“Learning from the likes of Scott Brown and Steven Whittaker is amazing in terms of the tips they’re able to give me.

“The advice is always to take things a game at a time and don’t get too ahead of myself.

“Being away with Scotland under 19s recently was great as well. It was a different experience and a great bunch of boys and something that I really enjoyed.”
