A mum was heard screaming for the car that killed her toddler to “stop” after the tot wandered into a road.
The young boy was struck down by a vehicle in Wembley, north London on Sunday evening as his distraught mother cried out for the car to “stop”, reports the Mirror.
A team from the London Ambulance Service dashed to the scene but despite the best efforts of paramedics, the youngster was tragically pronounced dead.
Speaking to The Sun, a neighbour said: “The boy’s mum was telling the driver to stop – but he still went.”
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 6.58pm on Sunday to reports of an incident on Acton Lane.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a child was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The Mirror has contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.
