BECKLEY, W.Va. —Before Tuesday night, it had been 14 years since Woodrow Wilson Boys’ soccer had won the Regional title
After losing in the Regional Championship match in 2023 against the same George Washington team, they were out for revenge this time.
It was a very tightly contested match all 80 minutes, where an unusual goal ended up being the decider.
Jonathan Scott was the lone scorer after he threw the ball in towards the net, where the Patriots Goalie left the net and touched the ball, making it all too easy for it to fall between the pipes.
Woodrow now will play Next Thursday as the No.2 seed against Wheeling Park in States.
