Outlander favourite Brianna Fraser (played by Sophie Skelton) was left stricken following the kidnapping of her son Jemmy (Blake Johnston-Miller) in the midseason finale.
Viewers have been waiting on the edge of their seats following the latest episodes last year, with less than a month to go now before the adventure continues on Starz.
Where the series last left off, Bree’s husband Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) had ventured back in time to pursue Jemmy’s abductor Rob Cameron (Chris Fulton) with his ancestor William ‘Buck’ MacKenzie (Diarmaid Murtagh).
Bree is now left in the 1980s with their young daughter Mandy (Rosa Morris), while her parents Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) have returned to Scotland in the 18th Century.
Before the time-travelling fantasy saga continues in just a few weeks, Outlander’s official Instagram page has been keeping fans hooked with sneak peeks at the coming episodes.
In the latest clip, Brianna is clearly still struggling to cope with her new reality as she looks after Mandy by herself while Roger is pursuing their son through history.
The caption sets the scene: “Your son’s been kidnapped and there’s nothing you can do but wait… that’s a feeling I wouldn’t wish on anyone.”
After tucking her daughter into bed, she heads downstairs to make a drink in the kitchen.
Staring longingly out of the window for a moment, she proceeds to chuck a fork back into the cutlery draw but finds it stuck.
A frustrated Bree tries to slam it shut several times but her finger gets caught and she gasps an expletive before breaking down in tears.
Outlander fans anticipating the series’ return couldn’t help but feel for Bree in this tragic new clip and took to the comments to share her pain.
“A mother’s pain, oh Bree,” one commenter said, adding plenty of crying emojis for good measure.
“It must be one of the scariest moments that any parents would go through. Poor Bree,” someone else replied.
A third commented: “The agony I feel seeing Bree like this.”
Another Outlander fan replied: “She’s torn between two worlds, just as her mother was many years previously. Hoping for a positive outcome for the MacKenzies.”
And a final fan added: “So awful. If it’s anywhere near the book, it’s going to be crazy!!!”
Following the last eight episodes of season seven, Outlander fans will just have one more season of the flagship time-travelling drama to look forward to.
Thankfully, the saga won’t stop there, however, as the origins of Claire and Jamie’s parents will be told in the upcoming prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
Outlander season seven part two premieres on Friday, November 22, on MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK and on Starz in the US.
