If you’re learning to drive, mastering the art of parallel parking can often seem like a daunting task.

Even seasoned drivers may find themselves questioning how they managed to nail the move during their driving test if they now struggle with it in their everyday life.

However, it appears there’s a fool-proof technique that can make parallel parking a breeze. TikTok user @thedrivinginstructor revealed ‘the secret to making parallel parking easy,’ and those who have difficulty with the manoeuvre said they were keen to give it a go.

Parallel parking involves positioning your vehicle parallel to the road, typically in alignment with other parked cars.

The driving instructor said you could master the “secret” to this parking method in “four easy steps,” demonstrated by someone in the car with a voiceover providing guidance.

Firstly, you need to “place your car parallel to the car in front.” Next, “turn the wheel one round to the left and begin to reverse.” It’s important to “always check your surroundings while doing this.”

The car will then reverse towards the left side, without colliding with the vehicle in front.

The third step involves turning “your wheel three rounds to the right and reverse” so that the car aligns itself into the spot you intend to park in.

The final step is to “make your wheel straight and reverse back two car lengths distance”, and voila, you’ve accomplished what you previously thought was unachievable.

In the comments section, some users suggested that parking in a spacious area like the one demonstrated in the video would be straightforward, but for those still learning, it’s beneficial to start with simpler scenarios before moving on to more challenging ones.

One user expressed frustration, saying: “Use your mirrors and judge for yourself.”

Meanwhile, another commenter confessed: “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to park my car. I can only drive into big spaces.”
