Ardenglen Housing Association outlined plans at its first outdoor Autumn Festival for a new community hub.
The housing body took the opportunity during the festival to consult people living in Castlemilk heard about the hub and a garden.
Their opinions were sought about how they would like the hub and the growing space to be used.
There were also a host of activities for children to take part in at the festival including, balloon sculpture, a science workshop and cake decoration.
The association’s energy advice financial inclusion team were on hand to help local people with financial and energy matters, to help keep bills down. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance offering safety in the home tips.
Ardenglen manage around 1000 houses in the Castlemilk area.
“We wanted to get local people’s input into what shape the new growing space and HUB would take, the type of plants that we could grow there and the type of activities that could take place inside,” said Fiona McGowan, Ardenglen’s Community Investment Manager.
“Local people are really looking forward to the hub opening and having access to a new outdoor area. The feedback we got about both has been terrific.
“We would like to thank Castlemilk Together for providing an allocation of their funding from Glasgow City Council’s Holiday Food Programme funding, which provided free food and activities on the day.”
