A mother and her two children tragically lost their lives after leaping from Niagara Falls on Monday.
33 year old Chaianti Means, along with her children Roman Rossman, nine, and five-month-old Mecca Means, crossed the safety railing, according to New York State Police.
The trio fell to their deaths, with their bodies yet to be retrieved. The authorities have labelled the fall as “intentional”, but also confirmed that “circumstances remain under investigation”.
Unmanned aircraft and underwater resources are being utilised by officers as part of their ongoing probe.
It’s reported that the mother and her children stepped over the guardrail at Luna Island, a small island nestled between the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, forming part of the renowned tourist spot, reports the Mirror.
Chaianti, who was employed as a domestic violence counsellor as per her LinkedIn profile, is believed to have resided in Niagara Falls.
Following the heartbreaking incident, tributes from friends surfaced on the mother-of-three’s Facebook page. “I can’t even bare to write a post about her and share memories,” Mich Molina posted.
“I am literally sick to my stomach and I can’t even deal with the emotions I am feeling. Just know her and her children are dearly loved by me and my children.”
“You really never know what anybody is going through….RIP,” Niesha Eukeya said.
