PRINCETON, W.Va. -Branson Family Dentistry gives all patients the opportunity to meet their furry team member Kabu.
Kabu is a licensed therapy dog who specializes in detection of anxiety.
One patient who has been terrified of dentists her entire life says she’s found new comfort in the very place she once avoided, sometimes even stopping by just to say hi to Kabo.
“I’m going to have to make appointments to come just to see Kabu to help me out, you know. It’s amazing, who would ever think that a dog would do something like that, could actually sense your fears and anxiety, and then comfort you in her own way. That’s totally amazing to me,” said Shelia Saunders, Patient at Branson Family Dentistry.
Dr. Jarrod Branson says the team is grateful to have her become a part of their team.
“The main thing with her, she senses anxiety. So, if a patient has anxiety, she’ll come over to their chair and sit next to them and let them pet her. So, she only works half a day, but when she does, she does a great job,” said Dr. Branson.
