Two bus stop shelters in Craigneuk have been repaired after they were damaged in acts of vandalism.
All of the glass panes at both of the shelters needed to be replaced following the incidents.
One of the bus shelters that was damaged is on Shieldmuir Street while the other is a short distance away on Glasgow Road.
Orange tape was initially tied around the structure of the bus stops following the removal of the glass panes but it did not hold because of the deteriorating weather.
Barriers were then put in place to close off the bus shelters before the required repair work could take place with the new glass panes installed.
Scottish Conservative Councillor for Motherwell South East and Ravenscraig, Nathan Wilson said: “I am outraged that the bus stop shelters on Shieldmuir Street and Glasgow Road were subject to disgraceful vandalism.
“Damaging public transport infrastructure that is used by local people when waiting for services to arrive is simply not on and it is unacceptable behaviour.
“The shelters offer protection from the wind and rain and it is disappointing that they were put out of effective use at the time of the year when the weather is starting to become poorer.
“I contacted SPT to highlight the damage to the shelters and stressed the need for the bus stop infrastructure to be repaired promptly.
“It is welcome that the replacement glass panes have now been introduced at both of the Craigneuk bus stop shelters.”
