Martin Compston has sent Line of Duty fans into a frenzy after posting an unexpected AC12 reunion to Instagram.

The Greenock born actor, best known for his role of Inspector Steve Arnott in the hit BBC drama, took to social media to post a hilarious video with his co-stars Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar, who play DI Kate Fleming and Superintendent Ted Hastings in the show.

The AC12 trio were seen in fits of giggles as they travelled by tuktuk while Martin filmed them all enthusiastically dancing along to Gloria Gaynor’s track I Will Survive.

The 40-year-old Scots star simply captioned the video: “AC12 oot and aboot”. He could then be heard requesting the Vengaboys next as Vicky addressed fans: “Hi everyone, we just needed a ride to a restaurant.”

Moving the camera along to Adrian, the Irish actor said: “Hi everybody. I’m trying to give this a go so these two young people can get home tonight” as Martin and Vicky bopped along to the music.

The iconic on-screen trio who unveil corrupt officers in the force in the BBC show have now given fans hope of a possible reunion as rumours swirl that a seventh season will be coming in the future.

However, fans are hopeful that their tuktuk travels means something is coming soon as Martin’s followers flocked to the comments.

One wrote: “This better be a video of you lot pissing about after a long day of shooting season 7…” Another replied: “Ahhh the best trio! Hope to see you all back on our screens as AC-12 one day!”

A third commented: “Imagine walking down the street and seeing AC12 raving in a tuktuk”.
