A man had died after he was seriously injured at a recycling centre in Fife.
Emergency services rushed to Dunfermline Recycling Centre in Wellwood on Wednesday afternoon, October 30, where locals reported seeing multiple ambulances and police cars at the scene.
Police have now confirmed that tragically a 66-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, having been injured at the premises.
Police Scotland have launched an investigation into the incident alongside the Health and Safety Executive.
Fife Council have said the recycling centre remains closed in the latest update this morning on a Facebook page.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a man having been injured at a premises north of Wellwood, Dunfermline, around 4.30pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
“Emergency services attended, however the 66-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are continuing and the Health and Safety Executive has been notified.”
A HSE spokesperson said: “We are aware and investigating alongside Police Scotland.”
Fife Council have been contacted for comment.
